Clarence Goff
Mr. Clarence Goff, 70, of Loudendale passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Hubbard Hospice House after an extended illness.
He was born February 6, 1941, in Loudendale and was the son of the late Howard and Claudia Gore Goff. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Ralph, Harold, Howard Jr., Kenneth and David Goff and Grover and Cecil Kidd; and sister, Virginia Thomas.
Clarence retired after 41 years from McNeil Fence Company. He was also previous owner of Goff's Carry Out in Loudendale. Clarence was an avid sportsman who loved to spend time at his second home in Pocahontas County, hunting and fishing. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends who love him.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sue; daughter, Kim and husband, Jeff Blount, of Loudendale; sons, Eric Strobel of Cross Lanes and Brent Morgan of Dunbar; grandchildren, Amanda, Ben and Josh Blount, Erica Lester, Courtney and Trevor Strobel and Heather, Alex and Natalie Morgan; brothers, Cecil of Arizona, Raymond of New York, Ronald of Alabama, Joe of Ripley and George of Loudendale; and sisters, Rosalie McGhee of Loudendale, Shirley Via of Sissonville and Wanda Schaff of North Carolina.
A celebration of Clarence's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Burt Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Comer Cemetery, Loudendale.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank hospice nurses, Jo and Connie, for their special care.

Naomi M. Elkins
Naomi M. Elkins, 77, of Panama City, Fla., died at her residence Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
Mrs. Elkins was born in Newton, W.Va., daughter of the late French James Taylor and Stella Ann Canterbury Taylor. She attended Springfield Community Church and was a Dietitian by training. Mrs. Elkins also enjoyed working in her yard.
We will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. While we will miss her in our daily routine, her wisdom will continue to influence her family for many years.
Survivors include her five children, Beverly DeMarcus (Steve) of Panama City, Fla., Vanessa O'Quinn (Mike) of Jennings, La., Harrison William Elkins, Jr. and Ricky Glen Elkins both of Charleston, W.Va., and Valerie Bennett (Doug) of Georgia; three sisters, Ann Walker (Joe) of Jacksonville, Fla., Catherine Beane and Marie Madacsi both of St. Augustine, Fla.; one brother, Cledith Taylor of Panama City, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends; her dog, Cricket.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Southerland Family Funeral Home, Panama City, Fla.

Thomas E. Clark
January 7th 1940 - February 5th, 2011
Thomas E. "Tom" Clark Sr., 71, of Loudendale, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at CAMC Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer.
Tom was born in Loudendale on January 7, 1940, son of the late Bonnie and James P. Clark Jr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Clark; sister, Virginia P. Craft; and granddaughter, Tracey Clark.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Evelyn Ann Clark; four children and their spouses, Thomas E. Clark Jr. of Loudendale, Dale Clark (Karen) of Loudendale, Renee Boggs (Edward) of Loudendale and Melanie Truslow (Drew) of Davis Creek; daughter-in-law, Susan Clark of Loudendale; his grandchildren, Jason Clark, Matthew Boggs (Bethany), Tiffany Clark, Justin Boggs, Kaleb Clark, Valerie Clark, John Truslow and, great-grandchild to be born, Diane Boggs; his brother, Robert Clark (Reva) of Twinsburg, Ohio; and a host of family and friends.
Tom was a retired veteran of the United States Army and the Army National Guard with 23 years of dedicated service. He was also retired from the Kanawha County Board of Education after 27 years, and was an employee of Charleston Newspapers for 29 years. He was a member of the South Norfolk Moose Lodge 464 of Chesapeake, Va.
Tom enjoyed a variety of outdoor pastimes, especially beekeeping and gardening. He also loved spending time with his family and friends and always had a good story to tell. Throughout his life, he was known for his friendly, hard-working and humorous personality, and will always be remembered for his life’s purpose of helping others, with great dedication to his family.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Harding Funerals & Cremations with Pastor H. Burton Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Thomas Cancer Treatment Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Meschelle Wilbanks
February 24, 1966 - December 11, 2010
Meschelle Wilbanks, age 44 of Liberty, Missouri passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Liberty Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1966 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to John C. and Sharon (Gill) Wilbanks. She was a former customer service representative for Missouri Gas Energy in Kansas City, Missouri.
Meschelle is survived by her mother: Sharon Seaton and husband Homer of Promise Land, her father: John C. Wilbanks and wife Sheryl of Clinton, Missouri, a significant other: Dave Brewer of Liberty, Missouri, a sister: Christina Lederman and husband Matt of Springfield, Missouri, two brothers: William Wilbanks and friend Denise Drake of Oak Grove, Missouri and Jason Seaton and wife Elena of Grain Valley, Missouri and a niece: Ella Michelle.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Promise Land Bible Church with Reverend Jim Beard officiating. A visitation will be from11:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in Promise Land Cemetery.

Naomi Jean Goff

Naomi Jean Goff passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2010 in her sleep at Hubbard Hospice House.
Naomi was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was always doing for others. Christmas was a very special time of year for her and, although our hearts are broken this season, we are thankful for all the memories we have of her, including her wonderful Christmas candy.
Naomi Hoffman was born September 17, 1935 to Jesse and Macel Hoffman. She was their middle child and first daughter. She was a born leader, caretaker, and organizer.
She had two brothers, Luke and John David, and two sisters, Ethel and Donna. Naomi was a lifelong resident of the Loundendale/Davis Creek Area. She was very involved with several churches in the area and a big part of their fundraising efforts.
Naomi married George Goff on June 6, 1951. George was the owner of Goff Stone Mason. Naomi spent her days as a mother and homemaker. Naomi was the true heart of her entire family. She worked to plan family gatherings and always attended family reunions. She was very happy to spend her last Thanksgiving surrounded by all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, George; sons, Russell and wife Karen, Gary and wife Janice, Larry and wife Irene, and Paul and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Tonya Butts, Jason Selfridge and wife Jennifer, Megan Workman and husband Jason, and Leslie Goff; great-grandchildren, Vince Goff, Kayla Butts, and Carter Workman; her sisters and brothers; and many special friends and family members.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston with the Rev. H. Burton Hall officiating. Entombment will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

Ruben E Parker

Ruben E. Parker, 75, of Sandston, Va., died September 25, 2010 at Bon Secours
Memorial Hospital, Hanover County, Va., after a short illness. He was a son of
the late Robert M. and Arvilla Shoemaker Parker, born May 27, 1935 at Frame,
W.Va. He was also predeceased by brothers, Carl, Bob Jr., Jim, John and Melvin;
and sisters, Lillian Coffey and Thelma Albright. A six-year Navy veteran, he
retired in 2005 from McJunkin Corp. after 42 years of service. He is survived by
his wife of nearly 51 years, Kathie Ferrell Parker. Also surviving are his only
child, Elizabeth "Libby" Lovings; granddaughters, Carmen Saylor and Jessika
Cardwell; great-grandchildren, John David Livingston III, Chloe Rene'e Saylor,
Kandis Michelle Livingston, Cameron Michael Livingston and Trista Eve Crews, all
of Spring Lake, N.C. His sister, Arvilla Mae Frye of Van Etten, N.Y., also
survives. The family will receive friends one hour prior to a memorial service
that will be held at 11:30 a.m. on October 23, 2010 at the Woody Funeral Home,
9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, Va. Burial and graveside service will be
held at 11 a.m. on October 25, 2010 at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Sumerco,

Sandra F. Mullens
Sandra F. Mullins, 64, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 26, 2009, at CAMC General Hospital after a short illness.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Sandra had a gift of working with special-needs children and was involved in Children Special Needs programs.
She was preceded in death by her special son, Vaughan Andrew “Andy” Mullins; and her parents, Isaac and Kathleen Clark Adams.
Surviving are her sons, Daniel and his wife, Lisa Mullins of Loudendale and Larry Q. Mullins and his fiancée, Deana Harrison of Loudendale; daughter and son-in-law, Adwena “Gwinny” and Mark Morrison of South Charleston; sisters, Connie Walker of North Charleston, Melanie “Pat” Brown of Vidor, Texas, and Dewana Elkins of Loudendale; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with the Rev. H. Burt Hall, the Rev. Charles Pennington and the Rev. Billie Cline officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Conrad Gauthier
Conrad ( Buckey ) Gauthier died Thursday September 11th 2008 at Saints Medical Center and was the beloved husband of Patrica A. ( Eagle) Gauthier with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on December 20th 2008 of this year. He was born February 19th 1936 and was the owner and operator of Conrad Gauthier Construction Company. Roy Curtis Clark
Roy Curtis “Bill” Clark, 81, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Roy was a World War II Navy veteran. He also served as a Merchant Marine. He was a City of Charleston policeman, where he worked as a patrolman and later as a detective in the 1950s and 60s.
Roy owned several small businesses during his lifetime. He had a grocery store, ambulance, cab and wrecker service, just to name a few.
Roy's latest business venture was a bar and grill in Sissonville, where he made all feel safe and at home when they came in. He made many good friends while having the bar.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Major Curtis and Gertrude Smith Clark; brothers, Russell and Jack Clark of Charleston, and Bob Clark of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Irene Nichols of Charleston and Betty Hill of Cleveland, Ohio.
Roy will be greatly missed as a husband, father, grandfather and friend by all.
Roy leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 37 years, Redith Painter Clark; his only daughter, Marty Lynn Lyons and fiancé, Curtis Lanham of Sissonville; his sons and their wives, Johnny and Shely Clark of Sissonville, Roy Curtis Jr. and Joyce Clark of Charleston, Russell “PeeWee” Clark, Renwick Clark and Ralph “Corky” Clark, all of Charleston; his sisters, Alberta Patrick of Cleveland, Ohio, and Margaret McCullough of Wilmington, N.C.; his grandchildren, Bethanie and Garrett Lyons and Derrick Curtis Clark, all of Sissonville; Terry Clark of Charleston, Karen and Brian Winnell of Richmond, Va., Shawn and Jonelle Clark of Richmond, Ky., and Patty and Brian Clark of Charleston. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with the Rev. Burton Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Gardens of Memories, Pocatalico.

Ronald Lee Jones
Mr. Ronald Lee Jones Jr., 49, of Loudendale, born April 17, 1959, went to be in peace on July 18, 2008.
Mr. Jones was an Army veteran, former baker and former maintenance employee of the University of Charleston.
He is survived by his parents, Ronald and Marjorie Jones of Loudendale; sisters, Teresa McDaniel of Orlando, Fla., Carol and husband, Bill Nolan, of Wagner, S.C., and Judy and husband, Jeff Peterson, of Eleanor; and caretaker, Lisa Duncan.
A tribute to the life of Ronald Lee Jones Jr. will be 11a.m. Wednesday July 23, 2008, at Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Burt Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Comer Cemetery.

Berchie Lee Hall
Mr. Berchie Lee “ Bert” Hall, 71, of Port St. Joseph Beach, Fla., formerly of Charleston, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Bert attended Loudendale Church of the Nazarene, was a member of the Lions Club and was a former fire chief of the Loudendale Fire Department.
He was born August 28, 1937, in Charleston and was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ray J. and Charlotte Hall; and a brother, Benny.
Bert was the retired owner of Stainless and Alloy Supply Company.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis of Port St. Joseph Beach, Fla., formerly of Charleston; three daughters, Cindy Campbell and her husband, Mike, of Scott Depot, Joyce Stone and her husband, Clint, of Charleston and Kimberley Young and her husband, Elijah, of Charleston; four sisters, Amy Frye, Gay Lore, Shirley Cooper and Gwen Cooper; one brother, Ronnie Hall; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

" James Paul " Sam " Pennington "
James Paul “Sam” Pennington, 66, of Loudendale and Lakeland, Fla., died peacefully at home Thursday February 21, 2008. He was the son of the late William and Thelma Lockard Pennington.
He was born December 3, 1941, in Charleston, W.Va., and was a retired mold polisher for Owens Illinois Glass Containers, Lakeland, Fla., with 30 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert G. Sutherland; and brother, Jack Pennington.
James was an Army veteran, who served as a tank driver. He was stationed in Germany for eighteen months, including three tours at the Berlin wall.
After he and his wife retired, they, and his faithful dog Jessie, would spend their summers in Charleston, raising a small garden and traveling in their RV. When the weather would turn cool, they would return to Florida for the winter and more traveling.
Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Myrna Ferrell Pennington; son, Stephen and his wife Michelle of Winter Haven, Fla.; daughters, Barbara Iams of Auburndale, Fla., and Brenda Orr of Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren, Aubry, Josh and James Fox of Gaylord, Mich., Kayla, Morgan, Breanna and Lacie Pennington of Winter Haven, Fla., and Robert Sutherland Jr. of Mulberry, Fla., brothers, Harold of Charleston, Fredrick of Nettie, and William of Lakeland, Fla.; sisters, Jean Haas and Elizabeth Ferrell, both of Lakeland, Fla., Sunny Burns of Charleston, Phyllis Ripley of Olivet, Mich.; and only uncle, the Rev. Dayton Lockard of Charleston.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with the Rev. Frank Goff officiating. Burial will be in Pennington Family Cemetery, Charleston

Goldie Jewel Adams Bryant passed away October 31st at Heartland nursing home after a long illness. She was a member of The Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church. And was preceeded in death by her husband Woodie Bryant and parents Elzie and Emma Adams. She is survived by daughters Sue Goff & husband Clarence. Sandy Lopez Smith & husband Jack, Son Jimmy & wife Bobi, brother Bernard Adams, 9 grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren. Service will be Saturday November 3rd at Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Comer Cemetary. " Ervin D. Caldwell "
Ervin D. Caldwell, 77 years old, of Loudendale, Charleston, formerly of Wayne, passed away at home April 10, 2007, after a long illness.
He came to this part of the country with his mom and dad and Arthur Queen and boys, who ran a sawmill and ran the shack for the boys and girls to live in. He also worked for Pack Sawmill in Marmet and in Shrewsbury. He worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways and for Al Marino as a plumber. He cut out roads for Kanawha State Forest. He loved to coon hunt and trade dogs.
He was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Keither and Ruthie Mae Caldwell; brother, Denvil; and sisters, Thelma Caldwell, Barbara Caldwell and Sarah Ann Caldwell Whitt.
Survivors are his wife and companion of 54 years, Pansy “Pat” Dunlap Caldwell; son, Edward Caldwell and his wife, Cloe Caldwell, of Proctorville, Ohio; daughter, Lillian Ruth Caldwell and her companion, Robert Harris, of Yawkey; grandson/son, whom he adopted, C. Matthew Caldwell and his wife, Cassie Caldwell, of Charleston; grandson, David Brian Myers and his wife, Amber Myers, of Charleston; granddaughter, Casey Simpson and her husband, Deron Simpson, of Shelbyville, Ky.; grandson, Ernie Williams of Charleston; great-grandchildren, Brandi and Adam Wilson of Shelbyville, Ky., Cody and Celsie Caldwell of Charleston, and Ceaira, McKenzie and McCayla Myers of Charleston; stepgrandchildren, Jeremiah and Joseph Harris of Boone County; stepgreat-grandchildren, Haley and Hannah Simpson of Shelbyville, Ky.; brothers, Bill Caldwell and companion, Julie Hurst, of Wayne, Sammie K. and wife, Shirley Caldwell, of Poca and Dewey Keither “Pedro” Caldwell of Ohio; and sisters, Frankie Nelson of Wayne, Dora Nelson of Ohio and Ada and Brady Coburn. He had a lot of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Two special women whom he called his daughters were Jean Moore and Gert Chandler. Also, Albert Moore was a great friend and like a brother.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with Pastor Henry Johnson and the Rev. Harold Burton Hall officiating. Burial will be in Comer Cemetery, Loudendale.

5/14/33 - 3/31/07 Mary left to be with the lord on March 31st 2007 but remains in the hearts of family and friends. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Ron Goff. Mary was blessed with 5 sons Steven, James, Ronald, Otis ( Dale ), Robert Allen. Daughter InLaws Kelly, Pearl, and Barbara. Grandsons Dustin, Kyle, Jeremy Lee, and Steven. Granddaughters Lara Stover, Kasey, Chelsea, Shelly and Tammy. And Step Great Grand Daughter Hannah Stover.
Services to honor her life will be held at 2 PM at Serenity Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama on April 3rd 2007 With interment at Serenity Memorial Gardens Mobile, Alabama.
